nightmare on elm street an old version of a horror which was about a man called freddie cougar who was killed and comes back to kill all the children of the parents that burned him to death to the fact that he was being a paedofile and was trying to do things to the little children when they were in nursery.
The music is old but high and jumpy and bring a sort of excited but creepy vibre to the scene. It starts with heavy breathing and then a close up shot of someones feets walking and picking up something next to a table. A brown paper bag which signifies that period which this was creating and the quality that its been shown in. This film was created years ago and still comes across a very successful and a good selling point on pulling off a frightening horror. It then does a birdeye view shot of the person tipping the bag over and emptying it onto a table full of junk. It doesnt reveal the face which can intrege the readers as they will be concerned and curious on who they are watching at this persist moment.
Once he is finished, you can tell that its a man from the low heavy breathing and his hands are very broud and musky and massive he picks up a kitchen knife and something which had been poured out of the bag this is mysterious abnormal behaviour and hooks the audience into what exactly is this person doing. He then grabs a pair of garden gloves and cuts of the tips of the ends this could show that the character can come across as crazy and maybe negative personality that he can be the cause of whatever pain will appear in the film.
You then watch him start to work on something using manly and dangerous tools once he is finished you see a result and final thing which he created as he slips his fingers into the gloves you witness that he has sharp blades attached to the ends which connotes danger, death, blood and revenge. you can hear him make raa noises and continuous breathing. You can see that his wearing a dirty red jumper which shows that his different and less important than other to the fact of his appearance. This could kind give sympathy to him and people may want to find out more about him.
The title appears with a chiming sound which comes across as creepy and suspicious. They used red on the text and a different type of font to make it stand out on the black. the red also connotes blood, death, love it can be shown from different perspectives depending on the storyline but in the cases of its genre: horror it will mainly have been used to connote blood and death.
They only used the red on nightmare which could suggest that the deaths will appear in peoples nightmares and the white text for on elm street will show where the scene is set and it will all come together and have more of an understand to the title during the course of the film. They have really pulled of the title and really grabbed the readers in with not revealing much in the first miute.
after the title you see him plunge his weaponed hand into some material and hear him scream with anger and aggression this shows that he has a story to why he will be chosing to make the decision to becoming the killer in the film. This means that the audience will want to find out as soon as possible and they are hooked into the story.
Brand new setting with a young women amoungst a white very bright background you can see that she is in fear to the fact the sweat which is shown on her forehead and in her hair. the fact of continuous music mean that soon something will be occuring but she doesnt know it yet but the audience have a hint that they do. An extreme close up shot of her shows her face expression perfectly, confusing, vulnerable, scared, insecure all our exposed to the audience and as the shot changes she is shown from a distance moving slowly but carefully down a creepy corridor which is unknown to her and the audience.
Her actions have changed and as the music changes you see her figure move quicker and she twist her body around to see whos there as she gets closer and closer to the camera and the audience. You hear her moaning and panting during the course of this part signifies that her fear has taken over her whole body. her heart is racing and the audience are connecting with her as they are feeling exactly the same as they are not aware of what will be happening next.
The girl is shown to be wearing her nightie which could suggest that she is dreaming about this as it is unusual for girl to be wearing a nightie outside the bedroom normally.
